Betty J. Walker

Betty Jean Walker, age 93, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.

Betty was born October 9, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Theodore and Margaretta Keeling. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. She worked for State of Iowa in many capacities, serving with the Department of Health, the DOT, and the Department of Revenue throughout her working years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Eastgate Masonic Lodge. Betty enjoyed visiting the casino and playing cards.

She is survived by her children: Donna (Eugene) Davis, Bonnie (John) Mackin, Bruce (Patty) Fulton, Mark Fulton, William (Pam) Walker, Mark Walker; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and her brother, Fritz (Sharon) Keeling.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her son, Larry Fulton and her parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, and will be followed by a graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
