Perry Wilson

Perry Lawrence Wilson, 74, was born at home to Lawrence and Margaret Wilson, (who preceded him in death) a logger and a homemaker, in Stratford, IA on March 28, 1947. He passed away at his home on October 25, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Perry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed photography & sharing his photos with others, steam locomotives, small engine repair, computers, & dollar origami. He never met a stranger & could make friends with anyone. He enjoyed sharing his dime-n-pins & dollar origami with others & loved the joy it brought to them.

Perry was always ready to provide a laugh for someone or make someone smile. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Perry is survived by his loving wife, Carla; his daughter, Dawn Brown; his grandson, Jesse Brown; brother, Raymond (Elizabeth) Wilson; sister, Susan Wilson; brother-in-law, William Phillips; sister-in-law, Cathy Phillips and many nieces and nephews, extended family and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m.
