Thomas D. Jarnagin

Thomas Duane Jarnagin, age 50, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his home in Urbandale.

Tom was born December 13, 1970 in Des Moines to Ronald and Barbara (Owens) Jarnagin. He graduated from East High School in 1989. He was a steamfitter and worked in the HVAC field for most of his life. He enjoyed any activity that involved the outdoors such as fishing and camping. He was a great cook and liked smoking meat and barbequing. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. Sometimes it wasn’t the way it was meant to be fixed, but it always worked after he was done with it. He enjoyed motocross racing and bonding with his son through the sport. He was an animal lover and had many pets throughout his life. Tom was adventurous and loved trying new things and exploring new places through traveling.

He is survived by his daughter, Sage (Angel); son, Marcus; two grandchildren; siblings, Vickie (Rick) Hegwood, Vonda (Ron) Taylor, Laura (Jeff) Pierce, Susan Harrison, Becky Miller, Theresa (Doug) Krueger, and Michael (Rak) Jarnagin; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Barbara Jarnagin and his nephew, Justin Harrison.

There will be no public services at this time. Family has held a private celebration of life for Tom.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Alcoholics Anonymous.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of Toms’ friends who stuck with him until the end.
