Maurice "Mane" Reed

Maurice “Mane” Reed, 52, passed away on October 10, 2021, at the Lucas County Hospital in Chariton, Iowa. He was born on November 29, 1968, the son or Grace and Maurice Reed, Sr.

Mane loved watching all sports. Especially the Chicago Bears. He loved going to the movies. His favorite movies were karate movies. He loved singing and dancing. He was the first one in his family to join the church choir and he loved participating in street dance competitions. He was an amazing man who had a heart of gold loved life and would do anything to help anyone in need.

He met the love of his life Debbie in 1986 and married in 1991. They raised their three nephews Maurice, Red Boy and Ooley whom they loved and cared for as their own. They enjoyed walks on the beach, going to the movies, going out to dinner and spent many hours just laughing, talking and spending their time with their loved ones.

Mane is survived by his wife, Deborah Reed, his mother Grace Davis Reed, sisters Cynthia Reed, Audrey (Jean) Reed, Marlita McBride, Carla Reed, and Vanessa Kirkman, his brother Kenneth Reed his nephews Red Boy, Maurice, Ooley as well as many other nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his father Maurice Reed, Sr., and his sister, Denise (Nina) Reed.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
