Randy Cero

Randolph David Cero, 77, passed away from cancer on October 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston with his wife by his side. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 10, 1944 to Dewey and Lois Cero.
Randy married Vicki Lovejoy Brown September 10, 1978. Randy had a very successful career in agricultural seed sales. He retired after 42 years of service. He later worked part-time at Mercy Medical Center as a Lobby Receptionist for 11 years.
During his lifetime Randy loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, and his granddaughters baking and candy making. Randy loved spoiling his dogs. He also enjoyed cars and dancing. Randy’s passion was golf, making his first hole-in-one in May of 2016.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Vicki; children, Shawn (John) Lagemann, Todd Cero, Rishell (Chris) Mallozzi, Sarah (Tom) Pesek; grandchildren, Brittany (David), Hunter (Abby), Preston, Mason, Jacob, Sadie, Bridget, Dana, Sophia and Lydia; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Lois, and Charles; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Phil Cero; sisters, Haila Huffman-Stitzer and Bambi Cero; mother-in-law, Shirley Winters.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Family will greet friends beginning at 10am.
Due to his love of dogs, memorial contributions can be made to the ARL.
The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice, all his doctors, his care givers and especially Dr. Erin Fish at Mercy Internal Medicine, Urbandale.
