Robert Milton Manley was born August 16, 1941, to Milton and Dorothy Manley in Melcher, Iowa. He was the eldest of four with two brothers, Richard and Roger, and sister, Carol Diane. Bob passed on October 2, 2021.
He married Vicky Bolle in January, 1976. He brought to the marriage a daughter Kimberly and together they had two girls, Lynette and Heather.
Bob began his work career at the Des Moines Postal Service working nights on a railroad car sorting mail. He held various positions within the United States Postal Service with his last position as Postmaster in Pella, Iowa. He retired in 1997.
His hobbies were hunting and fishing with his good friend, Ed DeVoss. Bob also enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his yard and driving clean cars.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Manley; three daughters, Kimberly (Dave) Medrick of Tulsa, OK and their children, daughter, Alysha Medrick and her son Maverick, son, Aaron (Brittney) Medrick and their sons Ethan and Grayson, daughter, Elizabeth (Cash) Koppe, and son Zachary (Sara) Medrick; daughter, Lynette (Brad) Groenenboom of Grimes, IA and their children, Mackenzie, Alexis and Ryder Groenenboom; daughter, Heather (Danielle) Garlock-Welch of Ankeny, IA and their children, Destinee and Kolton Garlock, Michael, Kylen, Skyler and Aleah Welch; and brothers, Richard and Roger (Sue).
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carol Diane Headrick; sister-in-law, Diana Manley; and son-in-law, Kirk Garlock.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service on Thursday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, IA.

I have so many memories of all our hunting and fishing get togethers, think of it often. Sitting in our duck blind eating our Spam sandwiches and a hot cup of coffee and just talking. We had many "blue bird" days. You were a Good Friend. Ed

Bob will be missed by alot-he and i spent many week-ends together through the years-and he always would say-feel free to mow the yard-gas in the can-so i always got the job-from the house in windsor heights-traer-dysart-and spending time in st louis-always had a good time-and the road trips while you and dad would go looking for antiques on sat-we always had a good time-and coming to pella with the kids-rest in peace till we meet again-enjoy the coffee and pie with mom dad and dee-take care Bob-i will always love you-good bye Rog
