Theresa Marie Hamilton

Theresa Hamilton, 90, passed away on September 30, 2021, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 30, 1931, the daughter of Stanley and Anna Williamson.

Theresa was a proud 1949 graduate of East High School. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing cards, and was dedicated to her Catholic faith throughout her life. In 1978, Theresa suffered from a brain aneurysm which led to her paralysis and significant changes in her life. Theresa made her home at Ramsey Village for the last 15 years.

Theresa is survived by children, Stanley (Mary) Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, Cheryl K. Hamilton (Rich Menadue), Becky (Joe) Eldredge; grandchildren, Aaron (April) Hamilton, Emily (Nick) Alvino, Diane (Brian) Klitz, Jennifer Hrubetz, Charles “Chuck” Hamilton, Lauren Hamilton, Chris James, Kaylinn Willson, Ashley Dhainin, and Josh Dhainin; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Williamson; a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, John Hamilton, daughter-in-law, Cheryl M. Hamilton; siblings, Margaret (Kane) Owens, Martha Martin, Eva Mae Luing, Helen Waugaman, James Williamson, George Williamson, Joseph Williamson, Stanley Williamson, and Thomas Williamson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated to Ramsey Village staff appreciation.
