Eric Phillip Beem, age 58, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Eric was born August 6, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa to Willis and Carlene (Steele) Beem. Eric made his home in the Des Moines/Ankeny area.
He enjoyed Spending time with his roommates watching TV and listening to music. Eric went on many Search Beyond Adventures Trips. He particularly loved going to Branson, MO and Hawaii. Eric took great joy in participating in Miracle League baseball in Ankeny with his friends. Eric loved comic books and talking his staff about all of his carrying interests. Eric made friends very easily and was loved by those around him.
He is survived by his Mainstream Living Family and Easter Seals Life Club Family.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother and father.
There will be a celebration of life from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Kiwanis Miracle League of Iowa.

I don't know who wrote his obituary but he is processed in death by his mom & dad, cousins, aunts, & uncles, grandparents,ect.
My cousin also has family still alive like myself & many others. Eric was adopted when he was just a couple weeks old by my uncle & aunt

I wish that we would of been notified because Eric does have family that would of appreciated that would of loved to go to his funeral. I am his cousin and I just found out today 2 years after the fact.

I am sad to see that Eric has passed. I went to High School with him and have seen him several times over the years since that time. He went through a lot in school, as people did not take the time to get to know his heart. He was a very special person and friend. Prayers to his family!
