Ronald Johnson, age 66, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born the son of John and Edith (Neal) Johnson on February 27, 1955, in Monmouth, Illinois.
Ronald attended Monmouth High School, two years later he enlisted in the US Marines. He married Laurie Noel in 1975, and to this union were three children, Matt, Ryan and Erin. Upon his return from the military, he began working as a brick layer for Marty Swan in Monmouth, Illinois for seven years. Ronald and Laurie later divorced. He later moved to Des Moines in 1985 and he began doing concrete work. He continued to work numerous jobs over the years and ran work for Ahrens Concrete for many years.
Ron was an OPCMIA Local 21 member in Des Moines. Some of his hobbies and interests included his love for animals, cars, motorcycles, drones, and fishing. Above all, Ron loved spending time with his family. Ron will be remembered most for his sense of humor and ability to always make everyone laugh. He will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Bridget Parker; sons, Matt Johnson and Ryan (Dianna) Johnson, Danny (Angie) Parker, Nicholas Parker and Jason Parker; daughters, Erin (Jeremy) Heinrich, April Parker and Amy (Lucas) Mefferd; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Tim (Dawn) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Dan Redding.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dan Johnson and David Johnson; and sister, Susie Redding.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.

Oh Ron where to begin.. you made me laugh over so many silly things. Who is going to tell on Bridget to her sister? Jason is going to miss his cheesecake for breakfast and any time buddy. You made my sister so happy and she was/is so proud of everything you could do. You are amazing and will be so missed. You were so loved. Rest In Peace until we meet again.

I will always remember all the stories Bridget told about Ron. You will be greatly missed. We have wondered how you were doing since Bridget left Target.
