Service Details
Ellen Thrasher, 48, died on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ellen was born February 21, 1961, to Franklin and Carol Cummins in Leadville, Colorado. She grew up in Salida, CO, and spent many years in Sterling, CO and Phoenix, AZ before moving to Des Moines in 2003. Ellen was a waitress and nurses assistant. She enjoyed making crafts and watching cooking shows.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 30 years, Terry; sons, Tarry Thrasher Jr. and Theodore Thrasher; grandsons, Toby and Kayden Conner; brother, Eugene (Diane) Cummins; and many other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas F. Thrasher; and brother, Jimmy Cummins.

Grandma,
We are sad that you are gone, but know that you are wathcing over us from heaven. We wanted to know what heaven is like and if you got to meet Jesus, yet? You were so sick here on earth, but we know you can now run, breath and do all the things you have missed doing for so long. Grandpa, TJ and Theadore are going to miss you,too. But one of these days we will all be together in Heaven - and what a day of rejoicing that will be. We love you Grandma. Good bye for now.
