Hamilton S. Drane V

Hamilton S. Drane V, 43, of Ankeny went to peace on September 25, 2021, after years of personal struggle. He was born on September 16, 1978, in Tampa, Florida to Hamilton S. Drane IV and Eileen Drane.

Hamilton served his country as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate aboard the USS George Washington during Operation Enduring Freedom. His final rank was that of Petty Officer Third Class, pay grade E-4. He was a talented stock trader who enjoyed supervising people and hard work.

He is survived by his father, Hamilton IV; mother, Eileen; and his children, Eden, Audrey, Karma and Samantha. He is also survived by his maternal uncle and aunt, Garry and Teresa Stamey, maternal uncles Robert and Richard, his paternal Aunts Brenda Parham and Jean Small, paternal cousins Beverly Crosby, David Crosby, and Karen Quiones.

Hamilton was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hamilton S. and Edries Jean Drane III; and his maternal grandparents, Herman and Eileen Freiburg.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday October 3, 2021, from 2pm to 4pm at the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library, Conference Room E. The address of the library is 1250 SW District Drive, Ankeny, IA 50023.
