Daniel Shawn Mooney was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 8, 1961. Danny graduated from Southeast Polk High School. He worked for Ingels Hauling and then Waste Management.
Danny was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and always his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes.
Danny is survived by his sisters, Maureen Mooney, Pam (Tim) Miller and Karol (Jeff Baldus), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Evelyn Mooney; brothers, Bobby and Pat; sisters, Sherry, Susan and Kim.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

We were so sorry to hear of Dannys passing. He and our Dad (Tommy Cort) were good friends and we enjoyed him too. He came to several family functions and was always up for a good debate. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I have such great memories of growing up in Runnells with Danny. We learned so much about life in our little town. Although I haven't seen you in years my friend, you have been, and will always be one of my favorite people of all time! RIP
