Eric Christopher Lindberg
September 20, 2021
Chris Lindberg, 55, passed away September 19, 2021. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Family will greet visitors from 5-7 p.m. the evening prior also at the funeral home.
Chris was born September 19, 1966 to Eric and Jan Lindberg in Knoxville, IA. All the way from kindergarten through his senior year Chris participated in many sports. In baseball he and his brother Todd were on the same team. He also played football and ran track, but his main passion was wrestling. On his senior year, his brother Todd was a freshmen on the wrestling team, and he got the pleasure of coaching him on the side. After graduating from Knoxville high school, he joined the military and did several tours overseas during his 30-year career. He then had two daughters, Ashley, born October 3, 1993 and Haley, born December 28, 1998 from a previous marriage. After retiring from the military, Chris started his own business “Lindberg Interiors”, laying hardwood floors, painting and hanging drywall. This brought him much joy and he took great pride in his profession. Chris met Angela Turley online and after some persuading they met in person May of 2019, when she finally agreed to go with him to the farmer's market. They instantly fell in love and were married on April 1, 2021. They both enjoyed traveling together and making memories going to places like Colorado, Galena, and Ohio. The most recent trip was to Florida this last July. The trip was a pretty big deal considering Chris and Angie brought his mom and dad, sister and her family, daughters, Aunt Linda, and family friend Shae on their honeymoon. Chris enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and camping out at his grandpa’s pond. Chris was always grilling, cooking, or smoking (you name it) for family and friends. He was very well known for his Lindy Burgers, especially with his military family. He loved riding his prized Harley Davidson motorcycle. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He loved working out in the garden, cuddle time, and goofing around with his grandkids, Tayton, Maely, and Milly ( aka Taytor-Butt and his M&M’s). Chris’s little buddy Tripp always made his day. Chris always said how happy and excited it made him to see Tripp running up to him smiling and laughing. He was always being ornery, teasing his nieces and teaching his nephew Caleb to target practice. Chris was looking forward to teaching his nephew Caleb and his grandson Tayton how to hunt. Family was his first priority and he loved them all dearly.
He will be greatly missed by wife, Angela Lindberg, Des Moines, IA; daughters, Ashley Fridley, Des Moines, IA and Haley (Kyle) Patterson, Pleasantville, IA; step-son, Nick (Chantel) Turley, Norwalk, IA; parents, Eric and Jan Lindberg, Altoona, IA; sister, Melissa (Jim) Wegener, Bettendorf, IA; grandfather, Marvin (Pete) DeMoss, Pleasantville, IA; four grandchildren, Tayton, Maely, and Milly Fridley, and Tripp Turley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and his military family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darrell and Lois Lindberg, Doris De Moss and brother, Todd Lindberg.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Angela Lindberg to be distributed as the family wishes. Online condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com

Chris always amazed me with his energy. He always found a way to keep in touch with everyone, even after he went on to other things. There was never any question that if you needed him for anything, he would be there to help. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by so many.

My heart is breaking for the family as I am part of that family. I am Myron's mother and I have known this family before Myron was even born. No words can express my sorrows to all of you. God's blessings from Southern Mo.

Chris was always like a son to me and he clogged with my own daughter Shonna Anderson so we we all close during their teenage years. Chris would run to my house when he was upset with his mom so he was like family and I will miss him. I will treasure the last time we all met in Pleasantville for dinner. RIP CHIS and you are gone too son, but I will love you and my memories with you forever in my heart.

The NDC will be a lesser place without you in it. From your crazy laugh to you generosity of bringing in what you might have smoked or cooked the day before. You will be missed Chris, and I, sir, will snap to when we cross paths again. Rest in Peace brother.
