Lonny Troutman

Lonny Vernon Troutman, age 49, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Manor Care in West Des Moines while under hospice care.

Lonny was born February 25, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa to Larry and Arline (Davis) Troutman. Lonny became a union laborer at age 17. He was a “wild child” and lived life to its fullest. He was a practical joker and a prankster. Lonny enjoyed traveling, especially to California and Colorado. He was a free spirit and loved rock and roll music. He enjoyed going to concerts and was a martial arts enthusiast.

He is survived by his sister, Starla Lindley; nieces and nephews, Cody Ely, Heaven Lindley, Elizabeth Kaufmann, Caitlyn Basham, Sean Lindley, Cory Ely, and Christopher Ely; four great-nephews; and many other loving extended family members.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Arline Troutman; sister, Arline Ely; and many aunts and uncles.

Services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery, Maxwell, Iowa after the services. There will be a potluck picnic following at the city park in Maxwell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Lonny.
