Evelyn Ver Steeg

Evelyn Ann Ver Steeg passed away September 16, 2021 at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill at the age of 86.

Evelyn was born June 24, 1935, in Lenox, Iowa to Sidney Pearl and Annis (Trost) Reynolds. She was married on March 7, 1958 to Fred Lee Ver Steeg and they had two daughters; Rosanne (Russ) Paul and Kim (Lloyd) Long. She has 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She lived in Altoona for 48 years and the last two resided in Pleasant Hill at The Shores. The greatest joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved crafting and making wreaths for everyone who wanted one. She enjoyed shopping, garage sales, and attending craft shows. She worked at Meredith Corp for many years and was a homemaker when the girls were young. She was an avid Hawkeye fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, Mother, Father, Siblings; Harold, Gerald, Robert, Betty. Her surviving siblings are Virginia Bennett of Creston and Adelyn Cox of Hornick Iowa.

The family will greet friends Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street in Altoona.
