Dolores Ann Walker, age 78, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Dolores was born February 25, 1943 in Bussey, Iowa to Oscar and Dorothy (Willey) Grim. She was the second oldest of four siblings. Dolores graduated from Bussey High School in 1961. Following graduation, she fled from Bussey to Kansas City and worked for Sutherland Lumber Co. until 1982. Dolores moved back to Iowa in 1982, and did data entry for various companies until 2008, when she retired.

Dolores married Larry Walker and they had one daughter, Rhonda. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading Sandra Brown books, thrifting, and doing cross-stitch. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved every kind of animal. She was a hard worker and very kind and friendly to all people. She will be lovingly remembered as a little ornery.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Walker; brothers, Ronald Grim and Gordon Grim (Kathy); her nieces and nephews; and her dog, Rufus.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Dorothy Grim; sister, Maureen Casey; sister-in-law, Jane Grim; and many beloved cats and dogs.

There will be a celebration of life from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Dolores.
