Carol Bales

Carol Bales, 54, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021.

Carol was born on July 8, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Colleen (Fetters) Tyler. She worked as a nurse, floor supervisor at Meskwaki, and she owned her own restaurant, Carol’s Restaurant Bakery and Inn in Conrad, Iowa. After closing her restaurant, she opened a house cleaning business with her daughter-in-law called 2 Chicks and a Broomstick.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards, specifically cribbage, and helping people and animals especially her cats.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Lacy) Bales, Kyle Bales, and Trisdan (Kayla) Bales; grandchildren, Taylor, Landon, Katelynn, and Adalynn; father, Charles Tyler (Deb Johnson); siblings, John Tyler and Michelle (Gary White) Ehrsam; and a host of numerous other family members and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Bales; mother, Colleen; step-father, Marion Bales; and daughter, Ashley.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 also at the funeral home followed by burial at Spry Cemetery, Runnells, Iowa.
