Gloria J. Proctor

Gloria Jean Proctor, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Mahaska Health Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Gloria was born August 21, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Walter and Mary (Wright) Speck. She grew up in the Des Moines area and lived for many years in Knoxville. Gloria was proud to have gone back to school and earned her GED when she was in her 60s. She was a giving person and was a loving foster mom to many kids. She was a grandma to so many, always helping those that she could. She was very talented at crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter, Cherl Dunn; grandchildren, Corey Dunn, Savannah Dunn, and Sumer (Kyle Bazer) Dunn; great-grandchildren, Jazlynn, Haven, and Ryder; and many extended family and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Bud” Proctor; infant granddaughter, Lacey; and her brother, Ed Speck.

Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Auld Park Shelter House, Knoxville, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Mahaska Health Serenity House, 630 N 12th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577, in loving memory of Gloria.
