Frances Kopel

Frances Carol Kopel, 75, passed away at the Urbandale Health Center on September 6, 2021. Frances was born on September 1, 1946 in Marshalltown, IA to Edna (Bennett) Kimmel and George Kimmel. She attended school in Marshalltown, and spent the majority of her life living there. In April of 2009, she and her loving husband of 51 years, Richard Kopel, moved to Des Moines metro area. Frances was primarily a Homemaker prior to that she was employed at Marshalltown Manufacturing in Marshalltown, IA. Frances was a long-time member of the Heritage Assembly of God Church in Des Moines, IA. She enjoyed attending church regularly and participating in various church activities.

Frances is survived by her husband, Richard Kopel of Urbandale, IA; her daughter, Mary (Aaron) White; grandson, Alex White; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, George Kimmel; her mother, Edna Kimmel; sisters, Mary Anderson and Charlotte Brock.

The funeral service will be held at Heritage Assembly of God Church at 5051 NE 5th St, Des Moines, IA on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with a visitation one-hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown, IA.
