Roxie Iseminger
September 05, 2021
Roxie Iseminger, 76, of Altoona, Iowa, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, of complications following heart surgery. Roxie was born April 11, 1945 in Forest City, Iowa to Barbara Lou Sharp and Charles Ray Sharp.
She attended Tech High School in Des Moines, graduating in 1963. During her life, she worked diligently to provide for her family, putting the needs of her girls, Barb and Maggie, far ahead of her own. An accomplished seamstress, she made clothes for them, and both girls relied on her for occasional mending and repairs, even after they were grown. After retiring from Globe Machinery, Roxie filled her time creating immaculate needle-punch designs and numerous other fabric crafts, helping husband Earl maintain an immaculate house and yard, and visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, although insisting with each one that there must be a piece missing. For Earl, she was the love of his life, and their home was her favorite place in the world. A wonderful cook, she could hint to Earl that it was time for a night off in the kitchen by asking, with a big smile, if it was pizza night. And it better be Breadeaux!
Roxie is survived by brothers Bill Sharp (Charlotte) of Omaha, Les Sharp of Waukee, and Kelly Sharp; husband Earl Iseminger; daughters Barb Ruegsegger (Craig) of Altoona, and Maggie McCay (Kevin) of Carlisle, and Earl’s daughter Joyce (Jim) of Murray; grandchildren Anna Ruegsegger, and Maxwell and Nicholas McCay, who will all miss Grandma’s deviled eggs at Christmas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome at graveside services, 10 am Monday, September 13, 2021 in Altoona Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in loving memory of Roxie.

There was always the girl in Roxie that never stopped laughing. Just saying her name makes me smile. Share some Breadeaux and savor your memories. I will never forget her.
