Nancy Darlene McCoy, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
Nancy was born April 7, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa to Robert and Erma (Smith) Jacobs. She graduated from Moulton-Udell High School in 1955. As a younger person, Nancy worked for Bankers Life as a secretary, before stopping to keep up with her twelve children and make a loving home for her family. Nancy married Robert “Bob” McCoy on September 8, 1956 at First Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa and they enjoyed three days shy of 65 years together. To this union they welcomed their twelve children: Joyce, Glenda, Karla, Craig, David, Brian, Mark, Amy, Dan, Doug, Melisa and Bill.
Nancy was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening – both vegetables and flowers, and baking fresh bread. She was an award-winning pie maker who was featured in the newspaper in Arkansas as a “prize pie maker”. Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church in Des Moines for many years. She worked for Reames in Urbandale for 20 years, beginning in 1971. After her retirement in 1991, Nancy and Bob moved to Arkansas. She enjoyed spending time with her husband in Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO, hosting family for the holidays, hiking and enjoying their property.
She is survived by her husband, Bob McCoy; children, Joyce (Garland) Hoffman, Glenda (Bill) Seemiller, Karla (Craig) Hoch, Craig (Virginia) McCoy, David (Audrey) McCoy, Brian (Erma) McCoy, Mark (Theresa) McCoy, Amy Masseo, Dan (Kim) McCoy, Doug McCoy, Melisa (Dan) Coberley, and Bill (Aspen) McCoy; forty grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Darlene) Jacobs and Erma Jean (Jack) Zugg; and many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erma Jacobs; and her sister, Mary (Charles) Shively.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 3020 E 38th Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 17 at Hardin Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to First Baptist Church in loving memory of Nancy.

I will miss Aunt Nancy. She had the brightest smile I've ever seen. Her love of God and family could be seen in that smile.

I feel privileged that I got to meet Nancy. She was such a sweet lady. She will always be with you guys. I also feel very lucky to have her daughters as my dear friends! Now I know where they got their charm. God Bless

So sorry for your loss. Aunt Nancy was a very sweet lady. My heart goes out to the whole family. She will be greatly missed. But you have comfort and peace knowing she will be with the Lord and grandma Mary. Love and hugs to you all.💝

Dave, my condolences to you and your family. I didnt know you had so many siblings. What a joy to grow up in a family like that. I know you will all miss your mom tremendously.
