Carl Hill, age 79, passed away at his home on Monday, August 30, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 31, 1942 in Leon, Iowa. Carl attended Lincoln High School.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Cross on July 25, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska. Carl worked for Armstrong Tire Company, later known as Titan Tire for over 40 years. Some of his hobbies and interests included fishing, golfing and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Carl was known for being quite the jokester, always making his friends and family laugh. He also enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Jeananne Hill; son, Richard “Dicky” Hill; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ricky and Larry; and sisters, Mary Jo and Sandy.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Hill; son, Timothy Hill; and daughter, Angel Hill; brothers, Don, George, and Duane; sisters, Karen “Coke”, Judy, and Beverly.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines.
