Helen Ann Strock, age 84, passed away peacefully with her son at her side on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Valley View Village in Des Moines. She was born the daughter of Benjamin and Pauline (Organik) Malanowski on August 31, 1936, in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Helen attended high school in New Jersey. She took great pride in raising her two children. Helen worked various jobs in New Jersey, Minnesota, and Iowa. While in Des Moines she was a jet press print operator at Tension Envelope.

Helen loved throwing pool parties for friends and family. She also enjoyed vacationing and playing BINGO. Helen lived her life to the fullest with humor and optimism, and a great love for family and friends. She will be remembered most for her bright smile, kind heart, and her contagious laughter will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son, David (Susan) Strock; four grandchildren, Steven Strock, Sarah (Zach) Waters, Donald (Sarah) Strock, and Tammy (Jeremy) Randoph; and seven great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her daughter, Debra Strock.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Urn burial will be later at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Memorial contributions may be directed to “Shriners Children’s Hospital” in Helen’s memory.
