Larry Robert Joura, 64, passed away August 17, 2021 at Mitchell Village Care Center after battling lingering illnesses.

Larry was born December 14, 1956 in Newport, Rhode Island to Arthur and Roberta (Wilson) Joura. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. Larry enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed long walks in the woods with his dog.

Larry is survived by his mother, Roberta Joura of West Des Moines, IA; sister, Sue Joura-Freel of De Soto, IA; brother, Greg (Patty Reser) Joura of Van Meter, IA; brother in-law, Kent Freel of De Soto, IA; and nephew, Mick Joura of Van Meter, IA.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Joura of Van Meter, IA; and his grandparents, Eva and Robert Claire Wilson of Marion, IA.

Per Larry’s request, the family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
