Danny Rivas, age 76, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of Jesse and Delia (Decker) Rivas on October 5, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. Danny was a longtime employee for The City of Des Moines.

He is survived by the love of his life, Kathleen Rivas; children, Danny (Debbie) Rivas, Jesse Rivas, Frank Rivas, Robert Rivas, Jack Rivas, Tisha (Dustin) Wells, Amanda (Troy) Young, and Brian (Jodi) Shover; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Peggy) Rivas, Diana (David) Lopez, and Marilyn Keasling; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Danny Jay Rivas.

Family will greet friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Inurnment will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 24th, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel.
