James Dale Leege, age 63, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at his home.

James was born October 7, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa to L. James and Betty Leege.

Jim loved people, anyone that he met. Everyone became a friend. Above all, he loved his family. He loved them fiercely and they meant the world to him. Jim also loved fishing, football, and anything Nascar. He loved planting and growing vegetables in the backyard. He loved being silly and sarcastic but could fix the world’s problems with a loving squeeze of his big hands. Jim also loved Jesus deeply and we find peace in knowing he’s resting in eternal glory.

He is survived by his wife, Lorri; daughters, Jamie (Simon) Grubb and Heather (Robert) Calkins; grandchildren, Jenesis, Elijah, Destiny, Annabel, Natalie and Noah; siblings, Deb (Bill), Terri (Ed), Connie (Gary), Mike (Peg), and Ruth (Steve); and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, L. James and Betty Leege.

There will be a celebration of life service at The Salvation Army, 1216 E. 25th Ct., Des Moines, on Saturday, August 21st ,beginning at 11:00 a.m.
