Deanna was born October 25, 1972 to Dwight Sr. and Jessica Gaines in Des Moines, IA. After graduating from Hoover High School in 1990, she attended various colleges. She finally found her love for health care and was currently working in the Critical Care Unit at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She married Jeffrey Allen on February 29, 2012. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family together. This year Deanna became a Grandma to Aiden and she was truly overjoyed and spent as much time with him as she could. In her free time, Deanna enjoyed keeping her husband in line, hunting, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, listening to Prince and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and many friends. Deanna will be remembered for the outpouring of love she gave to her family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jeff Allen of Des Moines; parents, Dwight Sr., and Jessica Gaines of Waukee; sons, Anthony Thompson, Jr., (Holly) of Adel, Tyler Thompson (Mariah) of Le Sueur, MN, Trey Thompson of Des Moines; stepson, London Allen (Jessica) of Winterset; brother, Dwight Gaines, Jr., (Tammy) of Waukee; grandchildren, Ivy and Roman of Winterset and Bently, Mackenzie, and Aiden of Le Sueur, MN; niece, Gabrielle Gaines and nephew, Zachary Gaines both of Waukee; grandmother, Margaret May of Des Moines; father and mother in-law, Gary and Shirley Allen of Winterset; Anthony Thompson, Sr., (Paige) of Urbandale; fur babies, Lola, Buddy, Lenox and Rainy; cousin, Anthony (Brian) Turner of Staten Island, New York; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of sons, daughters, and grandchildren that she called her own.

I'm so very sorry for the Gaines and Allen Families loss. Dee and I bonded when be were both working at Broadlawns and discovered that both of our sons had Epilepsy. We kept each other sane through a few tough years with our boys and their seizures, and I'll never forget the memories of our team (dressed head to toe in purple) at the Epilepsy walk every year. I'm so blessed to have been able to call her a friend.

Maybe the most unlikely of friendsbut FRIENDS nonetheless. My heart aches for your babes and everyone you left behind. You were most definitely one of a kind!!!! I will always cherish the fun and mothering you shared with my kids! All of our conversations where you simply grounded me and never judged me. Regardless-you always reminded me that you had my back. Death of those closest to me is nothing new butyour unique flare for life and facial expressions are beyond compare. Enjoy the paradise you are now in and know that we will meet again!!! You deserve being in such glory!!!
