Jean Kay Hamilton, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was born the daughter of Lyle and Doris (Minott) Hamilton on February 8, 1938 in Mason City, Iowa.

She is lovingly survived by her siblings, JoAnn Houston, David Hamilton, Stephen Hamilton, Janice Bradley, and Phyllis Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Douglas Hamilton.

The family respectfully requests social distancing and the wearing of masks. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville, Minnesota. If guests are not able to attend the service in person, the family invites friends to join them virtually for Jean’s service through the link in her obituary below.
