Selma was a woman of faith who had a testimony for the Lord. Her testimony is of a person who had accepted Christ and then lived out the life of Christ in her daily Life. She truly by her life Adorned the Doctrine of God according to Titus 2:10. She was a woman of the Word of God, She was a woman of Prayer, She was a woman of generosity . I had the privilege of taking her to Israel years ago because she wanted to see the Holy Land and view the actual sites that she had read about in the scriptures and walk where Jesus walked. She was such a trooper even when she got very sick while we were in Egypt. She was a joy to travel with.
Recently I read two verses that made me think of Selma. In Isaiah 57:2 it says They find peace even as they lie in death and Proverbs 14:32 Even in death the righteous have a refuge. Selma had a Redeemer in Jesus Christ . At death she has a Refuge because she had put her faith in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins. The Bible teaches that she also will have a Reward. Someone once said each of us by our lives are painting a portrait that someday death will frame. Selma's love for Christ and her life was a portrait that brought honor and glory to Christ. I will miss her but will see her again because of the Work of Christ.
