Anthony Michael “Tony” Burke
Of Runnells, Iowa
On Wednesday, August 4, 2021 Tony Burke, age 52, passed away at his home with his wife by his side. He was born the son of Mary Thomas and William Akers on May 19, 1969, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tony enjoyed riding his motorcycles, going boating, spending time outdoors taking care of his yard and his customer’s properties, playing pool, spending time with his family, and being a dancing fool with his wife. As a hardworking man, he and his wife established a lawn care/landscaping/irrigation business in 2003 and he took pride in growing the company which they owned and operated successfully for 17 years until his illness would not allow him to continue.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marina; step daughter, Jessica Jewell; sons, Tony BurkeMoore, Austin Burke, and three beautiful grand-children, Jasmine, J’Lynn & Johny Ulrich; brothers, Bill Burke and Conway Akers.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother Mary Razor and step father William Akers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines, with visitation of friends and family prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

We will always cherish our memories of playing pool at cliff and gena's. So many good times. Pappy , foltz and I always had fun with both of you. Foltz and I will cherish those memories forever.

I will never forget when I met the Burke boys, it was 1981 and then my best friend married Tony. I have considered them as my family for almost 4 decades! He will be missed and always loved!
