Nicholas B. Wells
July 28, 2021
Nicholas Burl Wells, age 59, left this world unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Nick was born August 11, 1961, the son of Jackie and Norma Wells. He was a Green Bay Packer Cheesehead and collected sports memorabilia, especially Packers. His favorite vacation as a child was to Lambeau Field. Nick was a talented drummer and played in many bands. He was inspired by his favorite band, Van Halen. He loved his job at the Waveland Café. Nick was always helpful and kind, but a bit of a ladies man as well.
He is survived by his companion of many years, Marilyn Grimes; daughters, Katie Grimes and Kristina (Justin) Moore; five grandchildren; and his dog and two cats.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Waveland Café, 4708 University Avenue, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Nick.

I'm shocked to hear about Nick. We rode motorcycles and listened to music at his house when we were teenagers.
His Dad and Mom were great. I'm sorry we didn't keep in touch. RIP Nick

Nick was a sweet guy. He cared about everyone, you could see it in his eyes when he would talk to you as well as listen. When he asked you how you are he really wanted to know! When I met him we formed a bond that was like big brother looking out for me and would take anyone on in my honor. He also knew how to make you feel special. Gonna miss his winks and shoulder pats. R.I.P. Nick💜

I was so sad to hear of Nick's passing. We had known each other since we were sophomores in high school. He was a kind and gentle soul. Condolences to his family and close friends. He is now reunited with his mom and dad which brings a smile to my face...through my tears over his passing. RIP Nick.

If tears could build a stairway and memorys build a lane I would walk right up to heaven and bring you home agian. No farewell words we're spoken no time to say goodbye you we're gone before I knew it and only God knows why My heart still aches with sadness and secret tears still flow what I meant to say is I love you nows theres no time for me to tell you no time no more. now I know you want me to mourn you no more for me to remember all the happy times forever more. You will never be forgotten I promise to you today, a hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay.
