Kerry Ramsey

Kerry Louise (Biegger) Ramsey, age 48, passed on July 30, 2021. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SE, Altoona. For the safety of all guests, the family respectfully requires mask be worn. A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League or the charity near to her heart, The Little Al Foundation.
Kerry was born May 7, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the oldest child of Robert and Laura (Duffield) Biegger. She graduated from Southeast Polk in 1991. Kerry then went on to attend DMACC, where she got a degree in accounting. In 1992, Kerry married Richard Ramsey, Jr. and later divorced. Their married life took them to Rhode Island where they had their first daughter, Jenifer; then to Virginia and back to Iowa where their second daughter, Rachel, was born, before moving on to Illinois. Kerry and the girls soon moved back to Iowa.
Kerry worked at and then owned VIP Grooming. Before starting her current job at Siegwerk in 2008, she worked at the Altoona Public Library and Kids Connection Preschool. She was a member of the Altoona United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her cats that she referred to as her “Furbabies”, had a love of photography, birds, travel, and the Chicago Cubs.
She is survived by her daughters, Jenifer (Blake) Simpson and Rachel Ramsey. Also by her parents, Robert and Laura (Duffield) Biegger; her siblings, Gordon (Stacey) Biegger and Katie (Tony) Joynes; her uncles, Jim (Karen) Biegger, Tom (Cindy) Biegger; her aunt, Norma Biegger; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kerry thru CJ. It was wonderful to see two people love each other so much. I am thankful she had him to count on and she knew how much she was loved by him.

I really enjoyed getting to see her a couple times wish it would of been happy times.
Sure going to miss seeing her great smile and all the great times her and her CJ have and the great pictures

Im so sorry to learn about Kerrys passing. I remember walking down the road to spend time with your family. We were great friends. As adults, she brought you girls over to play with my children when you were very young. Unfortunately, we parted ways several years ago. :(
