Judith Smith, 82, passed away on July 29, 2021 at the Iowa Jewish Senior Center.
Judith was born March 27, 1939 in Carthage, Missouri to Fred and Isabell (Rork) Schmidtke.
She enjoyed working and playing bridge.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Mary) Stewart; grandchildren, Elijah Stewart, Emilie Stewart, and Zachariah Hayden-Stewart; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Smith; daughter, Glinda Stewart; brother, Dr. James Schmidtke; and her parents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Judith which, will then be distributed to Hope United Methodist Church and Mid-Iowa Workshops.

Judy and her family were enormously close friends during our school years in Carthage. I spent many a wonderful night in their home. We were very very close friends like brother and sister and shared many experiences and confidence II loved her dearly and my heart is very sad. Leon BOOTHe

Judy and I were neighbors in Lilburn, Georgia and kept in touch over the years. She was a great lady and will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I grew up with Judy in Carthage Missouri. She was a good friend and I have kept in contact with her for many years. My condolences to her family whom she spoke of often. She will be missed.
