Ngocthu Thi Tran

Ngocthu Tran, 78, passed away on October 5, 2009 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 10, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 618 E. 18th Street. Visitation will be held Friday evening at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be Monday 9 a.m. at Glendale Cemetery. Ngocthu was born on May 10, 1931, to Nhuong T. Tran and Mat T. Nguyen in Ha Dong, Vietnam.

She enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, knitting and crocheting, going to the farmer's market every Saturday, eating seafood, and most of all she cherished the times with her family, and cooking for them.

Ngocthu is survived by her husband, Tan Vi, sons, Quan A. (Manikham) Vi, Tuan A. (Kimoanh Thi Le) Vi, daughters, Hong Nhung T. Vi and Chuong Dai T. (Sayphet Baccam) Vi, two sisters in Vietnam, Van Dich T. Tran, and Hong Trang T. Tran, three grandsons, Chris V. Baccam, Alerik C. Vi, Anderson L. Vi, two grand-daughters, Anarie V. Baccam, and Marika C. Vi, and good family friends Chris and Janece Rohwer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Hoang T. Tran.
