Deana D. Belt

Deana Diana Belt, 72, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Deana was born July 6, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Franklin and Bernadine Belt. She was a longtime employee of Merry Maids. She adored her grandchildren and would drop everything to take them places or to spend time with them. She enjoyed playing the slots at Prairie Meadows or Meskwaki and she was a very good cook.

She is survived by her partner, Walter E. Mason, Jr.; children, Christie Belt and Charles Berry; step-children, Amanda (José) Miranda, Cynthia Mason, and Gene Craven; grandchildren, Christopher, Cody, Tory Linn, Rachel, Alexis, Autumn, Tony, Carlos, Justin, Nicholas, Kaleb, José Jr., Julissa, Alaynah, Johnny, Aaydan, Adyline, Savannah, and Ava; five great-grandchildren; her best friend, Rosie Kirkpatrick; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Deana was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Bernadine Belt; and her brothers, Frank Belt and Danny Belt.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Crescent Township Cemetery in Crescent, Iowa.
