Service Details
Irene I. Hensley, 76, passed quietly on July 21, 2021. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation on Tuesday, July 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. Irene will be laid to rest with her husband in a private ceremony at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Born on October 31, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Minnie (Schreckengost) and James Mouzakis, the family moved to Des Moines shortly after Irene was born. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked as a Collections Manager.
Irene is survived by her sons, Michael (Sheri) Dornbusch, Mark (Teresa) Dornbusch, and Jeffrey (Nicholle) Hensley; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dan (Kim) Mouzakis. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; and her husband, Larry Hensley.

Irene Hensley was the best Supervisor I ever had and reference for any job I applied for. We met at Norwest Bank. A very special woman who will be missed. May God give all of the family strength and blessings

Irene was wonderful neighbor and friend. She watched my kids grow up and watched over them when out playing. She will be greatly missed.

Irene was such a special Lady, Best Friend and mentor. She will be greatly missed. Prayers for strength and peace to the family. Just know she has touched so many more lives with her pure love and friendship.
