Susan Marie Spalding, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021 after battling with dementia for many years.

Susan was born January 25, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa to Merle and Esther Beem. She last worked for Emco Industries for 15 years prior to her retirement. Susan was a happy casino gambler.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathie and Linda; sister, Donna; grandson, Nathan; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Susan was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lowe and George Spalding; daughter, Carol; son, Robert; and her kitty, Lilly who died one week ago.

Susan will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Berwick Cemetery, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport.
