Betty Collins

Betty Mae Collins, 74, passed away at home Monday, October 5, 2009.

Betty was born October 24, 1934, in Neosho, MO to John and Ada Belle Pilkenton. She worked as a cook and cashier at the VA Hospital in Knoxville until her retirement in 1989.

Betty is survived by her husband, Dale Collins; children, Roy Lee Graves, Linda Torre, John Miller, Lisa Johnson and Samantha Schultz; sister, Louise Stromberg; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Heart Association and Hospice of Central Iowa.
