Deana Joy Dagle, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

Deana was born December 31, 1929 in Moravia, Iowa to Rollie and Garnet (Hobart) McDonough. She graduated from Moravia High School. While living in Moravia, Deana was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she volunteered and was involved in various church functions. After graduation, Deana moved to Des Moines where she worked for the state until her marriage to Leo Dagle. To this union, four children were born: Debra, James, Marcia, and Michael. Deana worked part-time for the Des Moines Public Schools lunch program for a number of years. After retiring, Deana and Leo moved back to Moravia where Deana worked as a hospice and election volunteer.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Smith (Ronald) of Glen Ellyn, IL; son, James Dagle (Jeryl) of Plains, MT; grandson, Matthew Dagle (Megan) of Kalispell, MT; grandson, Jesse Dagle of Lolo, MT; great-granddaughters, Bella Dagle and Leona Dagle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Deana was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wallace Dagle and her children, Marcia and Michael.

According to Deana’s wishes, she has been cremated and there will be no formal services held at this time.
