Carolyn Manbeck McLaughlin, 79, passed away July 7, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. She was born on August 27, 1941 to Earl and Betty Manbeck in Des Moines, IA.
Carolyn graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959. In 1962, she married Robert A. McLaughlin. Carolyn spent her life in Des Moines, Spencer and Sarasota, Florida.
She is survived by her sons, Kelly McLaughlin of Coon Rapids, IA and Joseph McLaughlin of Des Moines, IA; two granddaughters, Maddison McLaughlin of Coon Rapids, IA and Monique Giordano of Ft. Myers, FL; and great-granddaughter, Emery Giordano of Ft. Myers, Fl.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sara Ann McLaughlin.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held Monday, July 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place in Memphis, TN 38105.

I adored the times I got to visit with Carolyn over the years. She was my moms long time friend, and watch me grow up.
I loved her stories, humor and knack for finding the perfect gift! She was always pleasant and thoughtful.
