I was so sorry to learn of Jan's passing. We attended the former Des Moines Technical High School, Class of 1961, together. She will be remembered at our next reunion.

I was in Iowa last week and waited daily for updates on Jan from your daughter. We were all so hopefully and then saddened by her passing. Jan was one of my grandmas best friends. I have know Jan my whole life. I can hear her now talking about me when I was little, you were a wiggly little fart. Ill always remember how tall you made me feel Jan. Haha Love you and visits to Iowa wont be the same.
Play cards beat them all!

I love this photo of her! Jan was always encouraging as a coworker at Heartland. I was a graphic artist who appreciated her numerous compliments. In the old days, when we were in Ankeny, Jan would cut our hair during breaks!
Love and sympathy to her family and friends.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. We last visited with Jan & Max at the Diner before COVID when visiting in Ankeny. I (Janet) worked at Heartland for 12 years and played canasta with the group from there along with Jan. Always enjoyed going to her house as she was a gracious hostess and a great cook. I hope your memories will help your family during this time. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Dear Max and family,
We are all sadden by the loss of Jan. I know she had been so sick and fighting hard, but it was just too much. Such a dear lady and life-long family friend to our family. The long friendship you have had with my parents, will be greatly missed. The stopping by just to visit, going out to eat or playing cards. It was always a good time getting together. My heart goes out to each of you. Jan is now free from all pain and suffering. She is at peace. Only time can give you some comfort from your grief. Her spirit and memories will be with us forever. Sending love and hugs
