Connor Patrick O'Brien
July 03, 2021
Connor O’Brien, 26, passed away at his home on July 3, 2021. Connor was a kind-hearted soul. Creative, funny, and smart. Growing up, he played soccer and enjoyed watching games with his family. He loved playing X-Box with friends, fishing, bicycling, and reading history books. He would have made a great social studies or history teacher. He was awesome with kids and treasured sharing his historical facts while making them sound so interesting. Before being diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS, Connor enjoyed skateboarding and would hook up his dogs to pull him around. He loved boating and was a fearless daredevil on the tube. He loved exploring his Irish heritage, especially during family trips to Ireland.
Connor was an avid fan of the marble board game his Grandpa Benson made, and it was a favorite pastime of theirs. The two shared stories and Connor was instrumental in caring for Grandpa during his final days.
The sound of his voice, his handsome face and his awesome hugs will be greatly missed by his parents, Shelli and Noel O’Brien; his brother, Declan; and his extended family.
Connor was preceded in death earlier this year by both his grandfather, Floyd Benson and his uncle, Jeff Benson.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway and the memorial service at Valley Church on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed from the link below.
Donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society or American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Shelli, Noel, and Declan, I am heart-broken for you. Connor was such a kind, loving young man. He was always willing to listen to this old lady's stories and often had a clever remark for me. He was so gentle with Patches. I could tell that he loved animals and had a compassionate heart. I am praying for God's peace and comfort to surround you and your family.

As a parent my heart just aches for the OBrien family. My son, Matthew
played rec soccer with Connor with Noel, his dad as the coach. At 6 he was a cute little blond headed boy who played the game of soccer with zest. Shelli would bring Declan and wed sit on blankets and watch the kids practice. The age of innocence. Am so terribly sorry and my condolences. Always
remember the wonderful
memories and May the Lord watch over you all.🙏

Our prayers are with you. Connor was a pleasure to be around and we loved having him here at the Hyatt Place. He showed up with a smile on his face and put 100% into everything. God bless.
