Of Granger Iowa, formerly of Polk City
Brian Gene Bales, 65, passed away July 1, 2021, at Methodist Hospital, due to complications of sepsis. Brian grew up in Des Moines, attended East High School and DMACC. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for 25 years.
Brian loved trucks, dogs, and most of all his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Becky; sons, Ryan of Des Moines and Mat (Danielle); granddaughters, Kayli, Brooklyn, and Kynadee of Ankeny; his mother-in-law, Anna Navin of Polk City, and his faithful dogs, Bob & Joe. Also surviving are brothers, Willis (Mindy) of Colo and Blake of Des Moines; sister, Janice Easley of Des Moines; nephew, Shane (Charity); and many family members that he loved.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Dorthy; sister, Sherry; nephew, Steven Bales and father-in-law, James (Pat) Navin.
Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Miller Park, 401 Booth Street, Polk City.
