Janice Kay Johnson, 65, Des Moines, Iowa

Following prayer and asking for forgiveness of earthly human sin, Janice Kay Johnson, 65, passed away June 24, 2021 at the Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines after a long battle with Kidney disease. Janice was a faithful servant of her Lord and our savior Jesus Christ.

Janice was born June 22, 1956 in Des Moines to James and Barbara (Temple) Johnson.

Janice graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1974. At that time Janice took up her life’s work as a care taker for others, especially persons with disabilities. She especially enjoyed her working career at The Des Moines Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines. In 1980 she was blessed with a loving son (William) lovingly known as Willie.

Janice enjoyed cooking real home-style meals for her family and friends. She was a nurturer. She also enjoyed watching television, especially Lawrence Welk and Little House on the Prairie.

She is survived by her son, Willie; her mother, Barbara; a sister and brother, Joyce and Michael; a grandchild Madison; and her niece and nephew, Alisha and Matthew.

Janice was preceded in death by her father James.

There will be a private family and friends gathering at Easter Lake on July 10th.
