Kenneth Benefiel

Kenneth Odean Benefiel, age 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Kenny was born January 24, 1953 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to Merl and Eloise (Schoning) Benefiel.

He was a route driver for Amend Packing prior to his retirement. Kenny was a character and loved to make people laugh. He was a jokester and his laugh was loud and contagious. He was quick witted, kind hearted, and patient. His family meant the world to him. Kenny enjoyed watching westerns and scary movies. He was a country music fan and enjoyed woodworking in his free time.

He is survived by his wife Kim, children Monica, Mike, Josh and Melissa, grandchildren Addison and Alexis, brothers Ronnie, Wayne and Mike, sisters Lura and Pam, and several nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Merl and Eloise Benefiel and his siblings Loretta, Don, Bob, Nancy, Keith and Jeanne.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. There will be a reception after the service at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 6567 Bloomfield Road, Des Moines from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
