Ryan Sweeney Garms

We were so blessed to have known Ryan Sweeney Garms for his 37 years on this earth. His engaging smile and bear hugs will be missed. Born August 23, 1983, Ryan left us too soon on June 8, 2021. He showed a big heart from the time he was a little boy and was quick to comfort others in need. Computers, weight lifting, football, creating music and skateboarding were among his interests.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Patricia Sweeney and step-father, Donald Kaesser of Des Moines; brother, Patrick Garms of New York; as well as Uncle Mike and Aunt Natasha Sweeney, Aunt Karen Sweeney Hanner; and his cousins, Misha, Ella, Nikolai, Konstantine, Nicole, Eva, Owen and Landon, all of Ohio, and Colin and Joanna Hanner and Maya and Lucy of Stockholm, Sweden. He is also survived by his grandfather, John Sweeney and John’s wife, Diane of Marion, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
