Sharon Perks
June 08, 2021
Sharon Rose Perks, 79, passed away June 8, 2021 at her home.
Sharon was born December 28, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ben and Ava (Agee) Grandstaff.
She owned the Gathering Point (Southside staple) for six years. She loved Jesus, Willy Nelson and riding her Harley. She tried to never miss out on Sturgis. She was very family oriented, enjoyed watching her grandkids play ball and family cookouts. Sharon never knew a stranger. She died penniless because she gave until she had nothing. Half of heart is in Austin, Texas and half is here in Des Moines, Iowa. Sharon was loved by all.
Sharon is survived by her children, Sean (Stephanie) Johnson, Terry Hobbs, Johnna Oliver, Toni Long, Regina (Jon) Graham, and Davey (Mindy) Hobbs; siblings, David, Karen, Danny, Sandy, Kelly, Tracy, Mikey, and Mary; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Oak Park Room, 3614 6th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
Those planning on an expression of sympathy please direct memorial contributions to Abate of Iowa in loving memory of Sharon.
