Antonio Herrera, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born the son of Luis Padilla and Fernanda Herrera on January 6, 1949 in Santa Ana, El Salvador. After graduation, Antonio began work as an electrician and later moved to the United States in 1986.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Virginia Garcia; children, Luis (Zaira Cabrera) Herrera, Edgar (Linda) Herrera, and Roberto (Shannielle) Herrera; grandchildren, Jasmine Herrera, Kyleen Herrera, Daniel Herrera, Anthony Herrera, Enzo Herrera, and one on the way; and his siblings, Ismael Herrera and Vilma Herrera.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 14th at Our Lady of the Americas, 1271 E 9th St, Des Moines. Burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
