James R. Price

James Price, 89, passed away at Taylor House Hospice on June 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 27, 1932, in Des Moines, to Jim and Edith Price.

Jim was a proud graduate of East High School (1950) where he was an All-State quarterback and Chicago Cub prospect. After high school, he was drafted by the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict overseas. During his service he was awarded a Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars as well as a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 19, 1954.

Upon his return home, he had a long career in lumber and home sales.

Golf was truly a lifetime love for him. He was on the course as much as possible, was a longtime PGA member, and close to scratch for many years.

Jim was joined by his wife, Ruth; son, John; sister, Janice, and many other family members. Those left to survive him are his daughter, Joan (JR) Jaimes; sons, Jimmy (Sally) Price and Jeff Price; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hit it straight, Dad!

No services are planned at this time. A private family burial will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah at a later date.
