Charlie Williams

Charlie G. Williams, 77, died Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Charlie was born October 4, 1943 to Vernon and Agnes Williams, and was a lifetime resident of Des Moines. Charlie served in the U. S. Marine Corps and worked as an engineer for the Rock Island and Chicago Northwestern Railroads.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Lyon Williams, children, Scott Williams (Christy), Missy Simpson (Gary), 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Per Charlie’s request, cremation will occur and no services will be held.

Nan, Scott, Missy and the rest of the family. Prayers to each one of you for peace and comfort at this difficult time. Uncle Charlie was one in a million to me, I remember some of the silly things he did when we were kids. He will NEVER be forgotten! Love you all!
